"Build4People: Enhancing Quality of Life through Sustainable Urban Transformation in Cambodia": The overall goal of the Build4People project is to achieve a transformative shift in the current development path of the city of Phnom Penh towards more sustainability and a higher quality of life. To this end, the building sector will be the starting point for research.
The Build4People project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
INKEK collaborates with the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and leads Work Package #5: 'Urban Climate' .

|
Description |
The program mod_GIS of INKEK GmbH (refined, origin at the University of Kassel) was used. A special component is the module KLAM_21 of the German Weather Service (DWD) for the calculation of cold air production and transport in urban and regional climatology. In addition to the model calculations, a spatially high-resolution measurement campaign was carried out to validate and calibrate the climatopes. After the creation of the climate analysis map (climate function map, KFK) and the control measurement campaign, the multi-layered results were transferred into a planning recommendation map. Latter focuses on application in practical urban development. Additional consideration was given to scenario evaluations and open space analysis. Interdepartmental workshops and presentation of the topic in the city's committees were carried out. |
