DS4LoReMa - Data Space for Local Resource Management

INKEK is involved as climate specialist and data provider in the subproject "DS4LoReMa - Data Space for Local Resource Management" of the European pilot project "Data Space for Smart Communities", fundet by the European Union Digital Europe Work Programme. Together with our project partners, we work on (1) data-services related to weather, climate and extreme weather events to facilitate risk prevention, disaster resilience as well as climate adaptation and (2) the management of energy flows in a city and community specific context and in conjunction with other sectors.

The Goal of DS4LoReMa is in the area of data management is to break down data silos by developing data hubs and data dashboards, while reducing administrative costs, maintaining data security. In the area of energy management and forecasting, the goal is to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project goal in the area of climate change resilience is to manage heat stress and extreme weather, improve water management and irrigation systems, and monitor climate adaptation measures.#

INKEK, as part of DS4LoReMa, is working on two use cases with the following objectives:

Use Case Ingolstadt 1: Visualisation of Climate Adaptation Measures

Based on extreme weather visualisation maps in densely populated areas using hourly climate and weather data, a network of sensors enables warnings and recommendations for the population. A dashboard provides information on nearby cool locations, drinking water supplies and forecasts electricity and heat generation from renewable energies.

Use Case Ingolstadt 2: Climate Adaptation in Industrial Areas

The heavy rain hazard map will be integrated into the digital twin to simulate extreme runoff and plan targeted measures. Climate adaptation actions will be prioritized based on land availability. Climate data integration enables assessment of urban ventilation impacts.
